Description:

A premier, pre-cut vegetable processor and distributor located in Mahwah, NJ is seeking a QA Manager to join their team. The QA Manager’s main role is to lead and direct the quality assurance function from raw materials to finished goods. This position assures a consistent foundation for quality systems, continuous improvement, and client/customer satisfaction that result in product excellence. The QA Manager will ensure company compliance to all international, federal, state and local laws.
This position will directly or indirectly supervise all employees in the Quality Assurance department. The QA Manager is responsible for developing, administering and maintaining programs that assure the production of high quality safe products and for leading and managing all aspects of the Plant Food Safety and Quality programs from a 24/7 perspective. These programs include but are not limited to:
- Microbiological control policies
- Food safety and food quality audit policies including third party audits
- Sanitation programs
- SOPs
- GMPs
- Functional HACCP program;
- AIB standards
- Development and implementation of quality training programs and food analytical testing procedures.

Requirements:
|
The ideal candidate will have a strong process improvement background and will have excellent leadership skills to resolve quality issues and address facility and process issues that may lead to a food safety concerns.
Required Background and Experience: -
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years experience in Quality Assurance
- Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science and/or Food Technology.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Must possess working knowledge and capabilities to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
- Must be team-oriented and have excellent coaching, training, developing and planning skills and abilities.
- The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager that possesses the skills and fortitude to work in a fast paced, challenging fresh-cut processing environment.
- Prior knowledge or experience with fresh-cut processing operations is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
