Description: Produce Distributor seeking talented candidate to perform inside/outside sales calls to new and existing accounts in the wholesale and retail industry.
Prior produce experience is required.
Position is responsible for delivering excellent Customer Service while achieving sales and financial goals. Must be able to communicate company Vision and Growth objectives to customers.
Must have at least 5-10 years prior retail sales or wholesale sales experience. Candidate must have the ability to take initiative and have strong daily multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Overall good judgment/business savvy and a resourceful nature are key. Must be motivated, goal oriented self-starter and team player with excellent interpersonal and phone skills.
Requires experience in retail sales, gross profits and merchandising. Wholesale produce experience and produce management experience a plus. Proven ability to design and execute reset plans. Understanding of fresh produce, quality and handling. Good negotiating and management development skills.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Use suggestive selling skills to increase sales based on updated data from buyers.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business model and be award of financial impact of decisions.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly marketing meetings.
  • Walk Boxes on mornings in office, confirms labels, quality and volume.
  • Alert customers to any important quality issues and pricing concerns.
  • Coordinate or write own ads to grow business.
  • Prospect new stores in territory and make cold calls.
  • Handle reset s as requested by customers and or supervisors.
  • Communicate product information to buyers (pricing & quality).
  • Communicate competitive information to sales and buyers.
