Description:
SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates manufacturing plant operation in accordance with established company procedures, quality standards and government or regulatory requirements. Develops plans and budgets to support projected sales forecast. Provides leadership and direction to the management staff and helps with their development. Responsible for plant production goals while maintaining quality standards. Fosters a well-trained and motivated staff. Establishes and directs plant policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for daily manufacturing operations of the plant and all of its components to insure quality and productivity standards are maintained.
Measures plant performance and upgrades standards for all job functions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies and regulations.
Reviews and evaluates current operating procedures and personnel practices and establishes procedures, practices and priorities to optimize production and utilization of personnel and equipment.
Establishes and maintains operations procedure manuals
In conjunction with HR, develops and oversees implementation and administration of department policies, systems and procedures.
Coordinates preparation of plant operation budgets; monitors budget expenditures; analyzes staffing and expenditure requests.
Supervises, trains and evaluates staff directly and through subordinate managers/supervisors; establishes and enforces operating and safety standards.
Provide monthly activity and project status report to the Director of Manufacturing.
Conduct daily operations meetings to review previous day’s production performance including but not limited to labor utilization, waste, case goal efficiency, downtime etc. and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Establishes and maintains a positive community
Confers with Engineering and Maintenance to develop a proactive equipment maintenance program.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production area.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises the following: Production Manager, Kitchen Operations Manager, Logistics Operations Manager, Sanitation Manager, Manufacturing Administrative Assistant

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Four years related manufacturing experience and/or training.
Extensive operational background
Strong knowledge of food safety requirements.
Experience with ready to eat and infusion processes.
SKILLS
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
