Description: Our client is seeking a top-tier sales professional for a National Account Manager / Business Development role in Texas. Company is located in the San Antonio area. The company itself has a very strong brand, is growing, and has terrific product quality. The role has intermediate term and long term growth potential.

The position will proactively manage a group key accounts comprised of large complex customers. Must be able to develop a strategic and tactical plan for each account and use relationship skills to achieve goals. This position is responsible for new business development in specific market segments, requiring the ability to continually prospect as well as write compelling presentations and deliver to a room of experienced buyers & directors at top retail accounts nationwide. The basis of this job is to build new accounts and manage key accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities Include

  • Develop profitable and sustainable sales growth at assigned Key Accounts.
  • Manage large complex accounts, internally and externally.
  • Develop key account plans for assigned accounts; implement account strategy.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of each customer including, their important customers, their main competitors, and their strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and manage the delivery (presentations) of key customer programs including quarterly reviews, communication strategies, customer training, issue resolution, and pricing.
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with team members to ensure the successful delivery of services to your customers.
  • Investigate, track and resolve customer and client concerns; identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Keep strong communication lines open with Account Managers and Managing Director.
  • Provide client feedback to Product Management, Sales Management or other departments with regard to product specifications and expectations.
  • Establish and strengthen customer relationships with decision makers across departments and regions.
  • Retain and grow your assigned key accounts including meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of each customer’s business and develop viable solutions to meet their needs.
  • Must consistently track the development of such strategies and their resourcefulness, in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

    Experience with Produce commodities, fresh cut, and added-value items preferred. Other perishable product backgrounds may be considered if sales skillsets and relationships meet desired qualifications.

    Solid compensation package relative to experience and capabilities.
